Youth Hostel Scheme

The Youth Hostel Scheme is a joint initiative of the Central Government and State Governments to encourage young people to travel and explore India. Run by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, it provides affordable accommodation facilities to students and youth groups during educational tours, excursions, and travel. The scheme has been operating since the early 1960s to make intra-country travel accessible and budget-friendly for the youth of India.
